Software Engineer, Photographer and aspiring Astrophotographer

I am an independent amateur photographer, awarded the Royal Photographic Society’s LRPS distinction in 2008.

I started developing my own photographs as a teenager in a homemade darkroom. My first SLR was the Zenit EM, which was a great camera to learn the fundamentals of photography. The Pentax ME Super followed, which served me well for many years, right through University, and even on many caving trips. My first experience of digital photography was with the Minolta Dimage 5, a power hungry bridge camera; it wasn't long before I moved onto the Canon EOS 20D, followed by the 40D.

I switched to the Sony mirrorless system after my Canon died in a downpour at the 2014 Notting Hill Carnival.

I have had photographs published in The Sun and the German tabloid Bild am Sonntag.

I have a wide range of interests, including live music events, festivals, photojournalism, studio portraiture, etc.
